Apple Cobbler
Ingredients
8 to 10 servings
Apple filling
- 4 apples, thinly sliced
- ¼ cup coconut oil
- ¼ cup coconut sugar
- ¼ teaspoon ginger
- ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch Himalayan salt
Crisp top crumble
- 2½ cups oats
- ½ cup coconut oil
- ½ cup coconut sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon cloves
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Preparation
Apple filling:
- Grease the inside of the slow cooker with part of the coconut oil. Add remaining coconut oil, sugar, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt into the bowl of the slow cooker, and spread it out, stir in apples, spread them out so that they are in an even layer.
Crisp Top Crumble:
- Add all topping ingredients to a medium bowl. Stir ingredients until crumbles form. Evenly spoon mixture over apple filling.
- Cook on high for 4-5 hours, or on low for 6-8 hours until the apples are soft and cooked through.
- Cover the slow cooker with foil and store at room temperature for up to 2 days. The topping is more likely to stay crispy if stored at room temperature.
